When did it happen?
where was it
that the softness ended
that the truth stopped
giving way to blind
rage, shame, decision making
cutting wildly into the wind
to make the hurt stop…
And then they came
with their cold, critical justice
cutting down sinners indiscriminant
from a new definition of what sin is.
In our hurt and shame, we left,
taking stock of what was
taking stock of all lost
to rebuild again
from the foundation we’d set
when the world was just and right
building from a pedestalized past
until the combination clicks
and harmony is found again…
take courage
to heal not clouded by the past
to discern between
false salvation
found in desperation
and liberation
born of unbridled truth.
